How can I defend a claim by way of notice in a civil rights society?

I have asked this question in the discussion threads and via email which lead to the FAQ page https://thesovereignsway.com/FAQ/ but no clear answers came about. I know there is a clear distinction between common law vs. civil law societies but the question of applicability / usability or access to “law common to i” in the case of jurisdictions under civil rights code is not clear at all. Can i even write a notice to start with?
It is somewhat frustrating as the difference of legal systems seems highly relevant with regards to how one can effectively apply what we learn in this course. Available videos address this topic only briefly (video 1.4 as of min. 11 and faq video at the end of module 2, min 22).
I would therefore greatly appreciate if this difference and how to react to it would be explained in more detail –
